Home Information Pack (HIP)

The Home Information Pack contains important information that buyers and sellers need to know and is required for all properties marketed for sale. A summary of the HIP is given below but for more information visit the government's web site.

Benefits for sellers

For sellers, providing a Pack up front reduces the likelihood of surprises in the selling process that could delay the sale, as buyers will be able to make more informed decisions about purchasing their new home.

Benefits for buyers

For buyers, the Pack provides essential information about properties they are considering buying, free of charge.

What does a Pack contain?

The Home Information Pack contains two types of documents:-
Compulsory documents ('Required') - for example, the evidence of title that proves it's yours to sell. Optional documents ('Authorised') - for example Home use / contents forms giving information on boundaries and fixtures and fittings.

An example HIP can be seen on the government's web site.
