Ecohomes was developed and launched in April 2000. The latest version went live in April 2006 and is now used for assessing refurbishment and conversions. For new devleopments it has been replaced by the Code for Sustainable Homes. For refurbishment Berkshire, Hampshire, and Thames Valley we
Unlike the Code for Sustainable Homes, assessments are carried out on a site wide basis, usually at the Design Stage only. There are no mandatory requirements or fixed standards reflecting the fact that refurbishments often come with constraints associated with the existing features of the building.
